Great for Shapes! January 12, 2010 A. Frank (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this puzzle. I love how simple and clear everything is on it. It's great for teaching shapes, colors and words. My son used to love this when he was into the chunky puzzles and for a while I remember he would find shapes around the house (doors and cabinets = rectangles, light fixtures = circles, mirrors = squares, etc) constantly name them. I was amazed that he could really tell the difference between a rectangle and a square (he was about 15-18 mos) and that the heart and star are his favorite shapes. He would even find the smallest things and notice their shapes...like that an eraser and the buds of daisies are round. With this puzzle he also figured otu that you could stack some of the shapes upright as long as they had a flat side. If he couldn't stack them upright he would lie them flat and we would do kaleidoscope-ish designs. This was a fun and very educational puzzle!
My 15 mo old knows her shapes! April 11, 2008 Y.S (Kansas) I purchased this puzzle for our 15 month old little girl. I thought that would give her visual and tactile learning of shapes. The puzzle is very colorful and it is great that they can pick up those chunky pieces and manipulate them. Thanks to this puzzle, in about 2 weeks she knew all of those shapes. It is just amazing. Now at almost 2, she still plays with it and is so proud of herself, always asking me to tell her to pick a shape. Or she will just pick some herself and will name them for me. Great product!
Loved it! March 22, 2009 Nanna B. (SE Tx) This puzzle was fun and educational. My 2 year old granddaughter could handle the shapes with those little fingers. After she realized they would stand alone, it became a train of shapes. The colors were vibrant and another lesson for her. Great fun for us.
Great product May 22, 2009 cheryljoan (Holden, MA USA) I ordered this to use with a student that has severe special needs. He is legally blind, and has some fine motor difficulties. I am happy to report that he is able to effectively pick up the pieces and put them into the correct spots with minimal assistance. The colors are nice and bright and the quality exceptional.
